Air Britain ABPic
About the Project
ABPic is a site for aviation enthusiasts to share their aviation photographs. ABPic had an existing site that was tired looking and required a complete overhaul to bring it both visually and functionally up-to-date.
We created a fresh new site that made much greater use of the images and laid the site out in an easy-to-navigate style.
At the back-end of the site was a custom-developed content management system that makes it easy for the ABPic team to manage and process picture submissions.
We implemented an advanced search using ‘Elastic Search’ which has improved search quality and reduced server load.
In addition we undertook a large data-migration exercise to move and re-format the data from the old site over to the new one.
The site has been very positively received by both end users and by the ABPic team.
